How much space do you need?

November 2007 is the month of sheer dedication, motivation for one to study hard for SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia). It was one of the toughest things i had to do during my hay days....that was 20 years ago, you do the math. During my time i studied at my parents living room where a kopitiam marble table was placed strategically near the balcony which looks out to our lush green front yard.

This was suppose to inspire oneself to study in a relaxed state of mind.

The antique marble table measures 1/2 meter in diameter, it's circular in shape, supported by 4 wooden fragile chairs, it used to be my favorite spot in the house, well really summoned by my mom for me to study there so she can keep an eye on me. Studying in the room never worked for me n my mom knows this to well (zzzzzzzzzz). So the marble antique table was my buddy, my place of book worshipping and where i lay my head while i sobbed my teenage life crisis on. Most kids had bears, bolsters, cats to share their grievences but i had my cold, hard marble table top.On my table i would stack my study books, which compromises of :- Sains, Hisab, Geografi, Perdagangan, Sejarah,BahasaMalaysia & English in total of 7 books, neatly stacked. 1/2 meter wide of studying space was enough for me.

My sister Izadeana or E.D is currently sitting for SPM....i know how hard it is to keep the energy going but she's doing really well. Here's my thing...our family dinners normally takes place at the dining table which sits 8 people, roughly 7 feet long & 4 feet wide, i dined last there 6 months ago. We've all migrated to the kitchen eating at a white Ikea 2 feet x 1 1/2 feet table, sits 4. The big dining table is now her buddy for almost 6 months....i have no idea what's on it, she's got books literally covering the whole table plus she's got books in a huge blue basket on the floor....like a 7 feet long dining table is not enough? She has to study that much meh.....poor girl, i'd be soooo afraid of college.

Im sure her dining table buddy has shared many 'teenage hormonal mood swings' as my marble table did....happy studying kid!!

I cant believe Mum let her take over the dining room. Remember when we were not allowed to sit in the living room for a while cause we were so messy..
