Indecencies & Lies

I was reading the papers yesterday and noticed the same write - up about the 'KL Live & Loud' concert recently held in late November 2007. Same old stuff, complaining about international performers being indecent during their show. Ok, a little bump and grind from Shaggy is expected when singing a reggae tune...they even had a go at KC & JOJO's performance too....for being indecent as well. They say action will be taken against the promoters, oh well..cest la vie!

What i dont understand is that these people or should i say the media tend to pick up on things that are small in capacity compared to the real problems that we face today. Sad but true. I sometimes dont bother reading the newspapers because of the bullsh*t written, its seroiusly a waste of time. I need some positive feeds...please!

Mariah Carey only had 1 outfit thru out her performance a couple years back, Beyonce just strait out cancelled her tour here just over some small issue over showing some leg...i mean common, its like telling a painter 'u can paint but u only can use 1 color'. I thot we have passed 'zaman purba' but it seems like we're going back in time. Even the days of P.ramlee & Saloma, we had more freedom then. Y are we being more closed up then before? Take for example, the 'Dangdut' indonesian star tht performed at Stadium Negara way back...her restrictions was 'not to gelek her booty to the audience'....that's it? What with her backless skin tight catsuit while gyrating her hips, butt & everything else...no complaints, no negative media write up. Its basically, stupidity + unfairness.

They say the western ways are educating our youths with filth and indecency. I can go on forever abt this....I smetimes take a sneak peek at the Malay entertainment goss mags....indecent galore. No complaints there! You really need not go all the way to the west to pass judgements but our own back yard needs to be laundered first ladies & gentelemen. Once captured in the local paper a year ago where a religious organization raided a club and rounded up girls for 'indecently dressed', at the questioning one of the 'religious officer' made an advancement to a girl to perform indecent acts to him. Tht's f*cked up....really really f*cked up. How come these people are not getting sacked or action taken against them?

We are preached to follow, to cover up, to be 'decent' but in actual fact we are being led to lies.

Getting Poked

I apologize for not blogging for a while...in actual fact i've been busy with another activity tht involves the world wide web. I have held out for a while now but couldnt hold anymore.

I now feel i belong to a sect...what's that phrase 'if you cant beat them, join them'...like my brother Romy said 'duduk maing gini ah, i poke u, u poke me'!

Yes people...i've been Faced-Booked! I get poked, hugged, kisses, vampire bites, zombied...hey u can even send a drink to smeone without even gng to a bar!! I mean common, i dnt even know what goes on in Facebook most of the time but if this is the only way to keep in touch with family & friends then im willing to get 'poked'!

Rotten Stew

Im blessed to have travelled around the world and lived in UK & US....it taught me survival, work experiences, sibbling wars, family matters and to appreciate other cultures.

What do i miss abt the UK?! kebabs & the chinese take outs...nothing British at all, u might think! Its a true melting pot for all cultures to meet and make a country a better place...no boundries rite? 'We are the World, We are the ones who make a brighter day'.......remember that song? I didnt enjoy the cold weather, it was miserable, wet but it was ok, u know...it was alrite. I could go dwn the street at nite to satisfy my grumbling tummy without having to look back over my shoulder.

In the US i lived in San Diego, California...life was like an episode of 'Baywatch', except that i went to college for a couple of hours a day n kept my clothes on. Weather was perfect, just perfect. Not much of a melting pot but i do get mistaken for Rosa, the chica from El Cajon (pronounced ka-hon) who crossed the border a couple years before. It was irritating as hell when i had to convince the El Cajon-ees that i wasnt being snobbish & that i had not forgotten my Mexican roots......'me, no comprende es-eyy'....tht was as far as my local dialect went.
In Diego, i had the best roomate one could have or shall i say experience my American adventure with.....hehehe. He was a Vietnamese dude named Lui....well everyone thought so, a Nacho & Glass Noodle under one roof. I shall not discuss about LUI my brother..yet, that's a whole new ball game....soon, i promise! Diego was a fun place to be, not as 'melty' as UK but i could do my groceries anytime of the day, even at 3 am in the morning, it was safe.
Now back in KL, after 9 yrs away frm home i had to adjust to :-
1) Humidity
2) Traffic
3) Slow Service
4) Moodiness
5) Stares frm people as i plc my McDonalds tray at the rubbish counter
6) Only able to buy groceries until 10pm
7) Subjected to 'caramel popcorns' only at the movies
8) Waiters/Petrol Attendents hardly understand a word you're saying

.....but i knew i'll be ok, Im home...8 yrs passed, sadly home is not the same.
Crime has risen to a maximum.....im paranoid when driving at night, especially being a lady. The place i call home are run by 'Mat Rempit's'....there was no such term when i first came back, now 'Mat Rempit' is a household name, it has definately given Mydin a run for their money. Not only we're being terrorized by humans on kapcai's while sporting superman poses...more & more innocent people are getting robbed, hurt, murdered & assaulted by foreign workers too. Our own society are not far from the insanity either i.e Nurin's case....Not recommended for futher extention of the 'Visit Year 'O8'.

A diverse country, with multiple religions & races living in harmony....full stop!! Stop there, we were fine, we did fine....adding more to the 'pot' sometimes may result to a Rotten Stew.

How much space do you need?

November 2007 is the month of sheer dedication, motivation for one to study hard for SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia). It was one of the toughest things i had to do during my hay days....that was 20 years ago, you do the math. During my time i studied at my parents living room where a kopitiam marble table was placed strategically near the balcony which looks out to our lush green front yard.

This was suppose to inspire oneself to study in a relaxed state of mind.

The antique marble table measures 1/2 meter in diameter, it's circular in shape, supported by 4 wooden fragile chairs, it used to be my favorite spot in the house, well really summoned by my mom for me to study there so she can keep an eye on me. Studying in the room never worked for me n my mom knows this to well (zzzzzzzzzz). So the marble antique table was my buddy, my place of book worshipping and where i lay my head while i sobbed my teenage life crisis on. Most kids had bears, bolsters, cats to share their grievences but i had my cold, hard marble table top.On my table i would stack my study books, which compromises of :- Sains, Hisab, Geografi, Perdagangan, Sejarah,BahasaMalaysia & English in total of 7 books, neatly stacked. 1/2 meter wide of studying space was enough for me.

My sister Izadeana or E.D is currently sitting for SPM....i know how hard it is to keep the energy going but she's doing really well. Here's my thing...our family dinners normally takes place at the dining table which sits 8 people, roughly 7 feet long & 4 feet wide, i dined last there 6 months ago. We've all migrated to the kitchen eating at a white Ikea 2 feet x 1 1/2 feet table, sits 4. The big dining table is now her buddy for almost 6 months....i have no idea what's on it, she's got books literally covering the whole table plus she's got books in a huge blue basket on the floor....like a 7 feet long dining table is not enough? She has to study that much meh.....poor girl, i'd be soooo afraid of college.

Im sure her dining table buddy has shared many 'teenage hormonal mood swings' as my marble table did....happy studying kid!!

Time Flies

Sasha recently - bad for your teeth darling

Sasha turns 1

Sasha couple of months old

Received a comment from my sis Sofi who is in Toronto, surviving -10 below type Canadian winter, brought me thinking how time flies..
It's almost a year since i last saw Sofi, Doug & my dearest niece....seeing her pictures frm time to time makes me miss her even more. The last time i played with her she was crawling...now taking daily walks in the park with her mommy & daddy, she even speaks in Sasha dialect....!!
By the way Sash, Kenya left n never came back...but auntie E.D got a replacement kitty for you to play with when you cme back for a holiday - we named it Juling!!
Im almost certain kak faridah knows wat the cat's are saying...

Ayah...or rather the guy who takes 'Fruit Punch' to another level

Im determind to squeeze the secret receipe (fruit punch) out of him....damn, after all these years...still no luck. No kidding when i say this Ayah can do almost everything : he paints (mostly abstract), designed our family home, landscaper, horticulturist (is tht the correct spelling), sportsman (mainly majors in chi-qong & the occasional badminton sessions in front of the gate), oil & gas expert, HR, ex-Army major, a talented karaoke singer (ask him to sing 'Widuri', if ur lucky he might do the one bended knee stint)...i can go on forever.....no really, im serious. Oh! how can i forget the 'Fruit Punch' maker...we love you dad!!
